Rally Up Music was founded by Jamaki “de Khemist” Knight and King Kanashi I from St. Croix along with Byron “Guitzy” Green and Abba Yahudah Sellassie from Jamaica. The partnership is based on the African musical principle of polyrhythm where multiple elements with different patterns synchronize into one groove. Four individuals form one unit. Our logo illustrates this idea with four concentric circles contained in one large circle. We are a team of musicians, producers, artists and entrepreneurs. We strive to represent unity and call for harmony amongst the human family using the medium of music, the universal language. Our foundation is Roots Reggae, the message-music of the world.
As a record label we put no limit on ourselves fusing our sounds with styles from different genres. Our mission is to honor the tradition of spreading consciousness, truth and cultural awareness through the organic vibrations found in roots reggae, while contributing a fresh perspective aiming to keep the music relevant and alive. It is INI responsibility to raise the next generation of warriors, healers and teachers. In the words of His Imperial Majesty,
“…We must become bigger than we have been: more courageous,
greater in spirit, larger in outlook. We must become members of a new race, overcoming petty prejudice, owing our ultimate allegiance not to nations but to our fellow men within the human community.”
(Haile Selassie address to the United Nations Oct 6, 1963)
